Kerry Knight, PA-C and her husband Trent Knight PA-C share an enthusiastic passion for helping others. For their individual reasons, both selected the medical field as their chosen career path, as they thrive on giving to those around them, especially within the community where they have practiced, in the West Valley, respectively since 2005 and 2008.
Having met in 2004 while both practicing as Medical Providers in a Federal Correctional Center setting, it was only a matter of time before their mutual admiration and respect grew. In spite of having been actively seeing patients in this challenging environment since 1998, Trent’s display of kindness towards all his patients was apparent. He treated them with genuine dignity regardless of any negative stigma surrounding their incarceration; this behavior left a deep impression on Kerry. For Trent, working alongside Kerry, gave him a glimpse into the strong, compassionate qualities that she continues to effortlessly exhibit to this day.
With a shared fondness and desire to show support to our military, as well as our law enforcement and fire departments, they each continued to observe the dedication and professionalism in the other. Over time, these factors all played a role in setting the stage for their future partnership, both in their medical careers and eventually in marriage.
In 2008 Trent Knight spearheaded the establishment of the City of Goodyear Wellness Clinic. Together he and Kerry worked to ensure that employees for the City of Goodyear, AZ, and their family members, received exceptional preventative care. Additionally, whenever needed, patients also had the comfort of being treated in the Urgent Care setting that Kerry has practiced at in the West Valley since 2005.
Their time with the City of Goodyear Wellness Clinic gave Mr. and Mrs. Knight the ability to practice medicine without the restrictions typically encountered by corporate medicine. The positive health outcomes, particularly with Law Enforcement and Firefighter patients, were a direct result of the professional relationship and trust the patients developed under Trent’s care. Providing treatments within this healthcare model became the springboard for the Knights to embark on starting their own practice as Physician Assistants. This resulted in the subsequent establishment of Optimal Men’s Center in 2019. As a result of the strong connections established, the practice, within a short time, has been able to branch into weight loss, women’s hormonal health and esthetic treatments.
Kerry and Trent Knight are the owners and operators of Optimal Health and Wellness Center with locations in both Goodyear, AZ and Glendale, AZ. They are a husband/wife power couple and well-respected in their community - a true medical dynamo.

Kerry's decision to work in healthcare started at an early age as she recognized the need to focus on preventative care and the vital role nutrition plays in our wellness and health. Kerry completed her undergrad at the University of Florida. This achievement focused on Human Nutrition, an often-overlooked narrow area of specialty.
She immediately went on to earn her Master's Degree at Midwestern University in Glendale, AZ.
When Kerry was age 12, she noticed her mother beginning to experience symptoms of a progressive disabling disease and within the ensuing years, Kerry observed multiple healthcare professionals providing treatments for her mother, and her desire to professionally enter the medical field continued.
While observing individuals facing unexpected medical situations, those unable to be under the immediate care and familiar face of their family physician, Kerry developed a determination to put them at ease. As a result, she chose to specialize her practice of medicine in an Urgent Care setting, where she could be that beacon of security and safety for those enduring such apprehension.
Years later, Kerry was recommended for a role in her community- one which she believed Trent Knight to be the ideal candidate for.
She chose to be supportive while working alongside her future husband, as he spearheaded the establishment for the City of Goodyear Wellness Clinic.
After she and her husband successfully established Optimal Men’s Center (OMC) in 2019, Mrs. Knight recognized the growing need for the family members of their male patients to be serviced in the same setting. Her undergrad focus in nutrition aligned perfectly with her desire to bring full-spectrum health to patients in a wellness and med-spa setting. With an added focus of weight-loss and hormone health for women, as well as the highly sought-after provision of esthetic services, Kerry Knight, PA-C has become the owner and operator of the OMC affiliate, Optimal Health and Wellness Center.
Trent Knight MPAS, PA-C
Co-Owner of Optimal Health and Wellness Center
Having been raised in the Midwest by a military family, Trent Knight’s desire to serve was established quite early on. When medical reasons prevented him from active military service, Trent redirected this passion, into becoming of service to others through the healthcare industry.
After completing his undergraduate degree at Chadron State College, Trent continued his education by earning his Masters Degree in Physician Assistant Studies at Omaha’s University of Nebraska Medical Center.
Upon relocating to Arizona, Mr. Knight worked for the Federal correctional system where he provided unmatched care to those who'd previously endured poorly controlled medical conditions. It was during this time that he also practiced both, in Urgent Care as well as working shifts as a solo Medical Provider in a rural ER.
Trent can also be credited with having provided treatments to Police and Firefighters as well as delivering care to the employees and families for the City of Goodyear Wellness Clinic, which he’d helped establish in 2008. Mr. Knight has always expressed gratitude for the opportunity to have had a hand in such a rare healthcare venture.
During his service in this position, he did come to recognize the need for hormone replacement therapy and was subsequently able to witness the substantial benefits to those who received it.
It is for this reason, Trent Knight MPAS, PA-C established the highly successful Optimal Men’s Center in the year 2019, along with his wife Kerry Knight, PA-C, who also serves as the practice manager. Kerry has subsequently chosen to extend hormone care to female patients, as well as Aesthetics and weight loss to all, with the addition of Optimal Health and Wellness Center.
Mr. Knight believes in providing safe, thorough, and closely-supervised Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) to his male patients as well as Growth Hormone Replacement Peptides (GHRP) and Growth Hormone Replacement Hormones (GHRH). In addition to this, he delivers non-narcotic pain treatments (Trigger Point Injections).
Due to the sensitive nature of medical issues such as low testosterone, erectile dysfunction and weight loss, Trent understands the need and expectation of each patient to receive empathetic, top-rated service and has successfully continued to deliver this to those under his care.
He is and will continually be committed to helping his male patients of Optimal Men’s Center achieve optimal health allowing them the best overall quality of life.
Lien Le, MSN, FNP-BC
Medical Director
Lien Phuong Le has been a nurse for over 10 years. She has taught laser and injectables at the National College of Cosmetic Laser and Injectables (NCCLI) since 2011, and became its Medical Director March of 2020. As a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, with years of training and practice in esthetics, Lien loves to share her expertise with others.
Optimal Health and Wellness Center is pleased to have Ms. Le, with her vast experience and professionalism, as the acting Medical Director.
Raena Cuevas LE, CLT
Licensed Esthetic Consultant, Certified Laser Professional
After the completion of her training at the New York Institute of Beauty (NYIB), Raena began practicing in the Medical-Cosmetics Industry in 2009 while still living on Long Island.
She is dual licensed in Medical Esthetics as well as Cosmetic Laser Technology and also has a background in the pediatric and weight-loss medical field. Her professional licenses remain active in both New York and Arizona.
Upon her relocation to the Valley from the East Coast in 2014, Raena has continued in her passion for collaborating with clients on health, beauty, and wellness. Raena strives and excels in bringing confidence to all who enter her treatment room by creating a peaceful environment where one immediately feels at ease. She takes special care to educate her clients with a comprehensive, personalized skincare regimen, creates a plan to help them accomplish their esthetic goals, and promotes both inner and outer health and beauty for each individual.
With the addition of aesthetic services at its core, Optimal Health and Wellness Center has enlisted Raena’s experience and dedication as their Esthetic Consultant, Trainer and Laser Safety Officer while forging ahead with bringing full-service wellness to the next level for all their patients.
Cynthia Reed, DO
Functional Medicine Specialist
Cynthia Reed, DO embarked on her medical journey with a dedication to empowering patients towards holistic healing. Graduating from Midwestern University Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine, she earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree, laying the foundation for her unwavering commitment to patient-centered care.
Throughout her career, Dr. Reed has steadfastly served as a primary care provider, embodying her belief that physicians are not just practitioners but also educators and guides in their patients' health journeys. Her focus on functional medicine, metabolic health, and naturopathic approaches reflects her holistic perspective on healing.
As a certified functional medicine practitioner, Dr. Reed's expertise lies in hormone balancing, where she applies her knowledge to address the root causes of illness. Her approach to patient care is marked by collaboration and empowerment. She sees herself not only as a healer but also as a coach, offering patients treatment options and guiding them towards optimal health.
Dr. Reed's technique is distinguished by her emphasis on health pillars, advocating for whole foods, restorative sleep, stress management, physical activity, and community support as foundational elements of well-being. Her philosophy centers on the belief that the body possesses innate healing abilities when provided with the appropriate resources.
To stay at the forefront of her field, Dr. Reed engages in continuous professional development, immersing herself in research, collaborating with like-minded professionals, and seeking out continuing medical education focused on root cause medicine. Her ultimate goal is to educate and empower as many individuals as possible to reclaim their health, challenging the conventional notion of medication dependency and advocating for the transformative power of whole foods and holistic healing modalities.

Mitzi Schardt, NP-BC
Nurse Practitioner
Mitzi Schardt, NP-BC is a board-certified Nurse Practitioner who pursued her nursing education in New York at SUNY and the College of New Rochelle, graduating Magna cum Laude. She was honored with the Nightingale Honors Society distinction, the Collegiate Nursing Award, and induction into the Sigma Theta Tau Honors Society. Committed to professional development, she maintains membership in the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
Throughout her career, Ms. Schardt has demonstrated a steadfast dedication to public service, caring for individuals facing socio-economic, physical, and mental health challenges. She values the importance of listening with respect and kindness, recognizing it as her greatest gift.
Specializing as a public health nurse, Ms. Schardt obtained certifications in maternal child health and gynecology. She furthered her expertise with over 4800 hours of forensic rape trauma care and education, achieving the esteemed designation of American College of Forensic Examiners Certified Medical Investigator level five. As an expert witness in rape trauma cases, she provided critical forensic examinations and contributed to the founding board of the International Advisory Board of Directors for the American Board Forensic Nurses. Additionally, she spearheaded the development of Get S.M.A.R.T., a forensically focused continuing education program.
With sixteen years of private practice experience in Florida, Ms. Schardt has recently located to Arizona. She specializes in hormone replacement therapy and provides wellness and optimal health-based care for both men and women. She possesses a deep understanding of genetic and DNA influences on methylation processes, with a keen interest in advancing her education in functional medicine. Ms. Schardt believes in lifelong learning and is dedicated to guiding patients towards achieving maximum wellness and vitality at every stage of life.
